American English vs. British English:

In school I doubtlessly learned British English - my school books were from Britain and my teacher studied English in London. Although there was some influence from the States, at my school British English dominated the subject. The first time I‘ve been to America was at the age of thirteen. At that time my aunt had lived in Florida, so I went to visit her for the whole summer. When I got back I not only had a deeper understanding for the English language but also I‘ve learned tons of new American English expressions. Nowadays I watch many TV-Series from the States in their original language. Mostly because I can‘t wait to see the newest season of my favorite Tv-Shows. Therefor, American English has a bigger impact on my English so far. 

There is a great amount of words between American English and British English which has different meanings or rather different expressions e.g.: Ground floor BE - first floor AE, film BE - movie AE. Besides those differences, the Americans and the British differ significantly in their pronunciation.  I have to say that for me the American accent is easier to pronounce, however, I have a weakness for the British pronunciation. This is why Britain absolutely wins the battle AE vs. BE FOR ME :D
